HELPFUL TIPS

WHAT TO DO BEFORE THE SPA MAN COMES:

Is my water level high enough?
FOR PROPER FILTRATION AND HEATING THE WATER NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 2″ OVERTHE FILTERS WITH NOBODY IN THE SPA

Question: If the filter dirty will drop the heater out?
WHAT TO LOOK FOR:
Look at you spa filter The material should be straight .The center band should be intact and the edges of the filter should not appear to be frayed or fuzzy

Troubleshooting Software Issues

By far the biggest problem people get into is dealing with the software running todays modern spa. One of the things that I try to do even before going out is to familiarize myself with the operating software. It can be very important that the owners manual that came with the hot tub be available if possible.

You Tube  based Repairs

We all like You Tube especially when they save us money. But  the portable spa Industry does not assist their own repair technicians. There is no Pump standard ,the market is filled with Chinese products that are metric.  The Manufactors squeeze everything into the smallest space possible and that doesn't even begin to describe what tools might be needed just to remove a pump. So before you start taking things apart ask your self" how come there are so few spa repair guys?"

My breaker looks like it is ON but the spa will not run!
WHAT TO LOOK FOR:
Spas and hot tubs have what are known as GFI breaters. These are sensing breakers that moniter current moving towards ground.Different from standerd breakers that trip due to short circuits or over loads ,These breakers will see problems coming long before they become a problem.  GFI Breakers have three positions. ON-TRIPPED-OFF. When in it’s tripped position it can look like it is ON but the lever feels loose. Clear the fault by going all the way OFF then all the way back ON .If it trips a second time STOP .You either have an unsafe situation in the spa or the breaker is bad.

Is there a code in the display on top of the spa?

WHAT TO LOOK FOR:
Modern Spas will generate troubleshooting codes that tell the homeowner where the problem might be located. These codes vary widely from manufactor to manufactor and should be found in the owners manual of your spa. Service companies ,in some cases ,using these codes can help narrow down the defective part and even provide enough information to develop a repair quote over the phone.

As spas continue to improve  the ambiguity of the trouble code is becoming less anfd the accuracy of the repairs is getting better. That is not to say that given a particular code that it is wise to run to the internet and order the replacement part. There are still many “false positives” associated with logic circuits where one problem can have several root causes  A trained technician can save you money and aggravation  with return policies if the part you ordered does not fix the problem.

Aquastar Is capable of repairing a lot of things on your spa But there is a limit to how small an area required to replace a pump .

Minimally I need 36"

If you cannot take the side off to the spa there is a very good possibility that I wont be able to either.
